 Item — Box: 3, Object: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries contains reports, correspondence, and working documents about the organization various education commissions and the changes made to Board Rule 1995 over time. Board Rule 1995 refers to the guidelines for the operation of most of the Education Commissions, with the exception of the Special Education Commission, covered by Board Rule 1996. Adjustments to Board Rule 1995 were made in the mid-1980s to include more education commissions and to change the selection procedure of commission members.

Supporting documents, such as a paper titled "A Proposal for the Los Angeles Unified School District's Ethnic Commissions to Focus on Areas of Mutual Concerns," written by Jessie Lee Wilson in July 1978 are also included. Another booklet, "Education Commissions," created by LAUSD gives an overview of the Commissions and includes the two Board Rules as of 1985.
