Scope and Contents

The Paul Chace Collection is arranged at the Series-Level and Subseries-Level. The collection consists of ceramics, photographs, VHS tapes and newspapers about the Bok Kai festival, and various papers collected or written by Paul Chace. Also included are film negatives and artifacts from an archeological excavation that took place in Riverside, California.

Abstract The Chinese Historical Society of Southern California (CHSSC) and the UCLA Asian Studies Center (AASC) conducted the Southern California Chinese American Oral History Project from 1978 to 1984. They collected 165 oral histories, from which transcripts, summaries, indices, and the book Linking Our Lives: Chinese American Women in Los Angeles were made.
