Processing Information
This collection was processed by Riona Tsai, an archivist intern. Since there was no original order, and all of the booklets in the collection were published by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. It was arranged by type of publication, and each folder was arranged by date numerically from earliest year to latest year. The items that were deaccessioned were excessive duplicates and a publication from the San Francisco Chinese Chamber of Commerce as the rest of them were from Los Angeles.
This collection was further processed by Zoe Lee-DiVito. Initially there was one box of Chinese Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles materials processed by Riona Tsai. New additions to the initial collection includes Miss Chinatown booklets, Chinese business directories, and miscellaneous program booklets. This expansion of the initial collection informed the decision to specify the collection on a series level. Deaccessions invluded excessive duplicates and a Hong Kong martial arts organizational booklet.
Materials in the Chinese Business Directory are stored in protective sleeves due to the conditions of the paper.
