The China City Collection contains materials related to historical information on China City, a Chinese-themed tourist attraction between 1938 and 1949 located in Los Angeles, between Main, Spring, and Macy (now Caesar Chavez) streets. China City was a project proposed by Christine Sterling in 1933. The Chinese Historical Society of Southern California (CHSSC) and the UCLA Asian Studies Center (AASC) conducted the Southern California Chinese American Oral History Project from 1978 to 1984.
